BREAST AUGMENTATION

CANDIDACY

RECOVERY TIME
Recovery times vary from one patient to another, however, as a general rule, patients are expected to have a full recovery and return to their normal life activities after 1 week to 10 days after surgery. However, it is recommended to take some precautions during this period. For example:
-Avoid lifting heavy objects.
-Keep the breast area away from any type of heat.
-Don’t expose yourself to the sun for at least two months.
GEL FILLING
Silicone implants filled with Mentor’s patented cohesive gel: MENTOR® Memory Gel® implants are kept uniform while retaining the natural elasticity that resembles breast tissue and there are four options: Classic, Moderate Plus, High Profile, Ultra High Profile.
SALINE SOLUTION
The salt water solution fills breast implants with saline solution, very similar to the fluid that makes up most of the human body. The surgeon will be able to adjust the size during the procedure due to the variable filling volume. There are three options: Moderate, Moderate Plus, High Profile.
What about the placement and the incision?

The surgeon can place the implants above or below the thoracic muscle. The submuscular placement of the breast implants is a more invasive surgery, where the surgeon places the implant under the muscles of the patient’s chest. This placement gives a more natural and realistic appearance than the subglandular placement, where the surgeon places the implants on top of the thoracic muscles, the latter option implies shorter recovery times and smaller incisions.

There are many ways in which a surgeon can introduce an implant into the body, such as through the inframammary folds, armpits, areola or navel, and each option has its pros, cons and limitations.
